EXCELLENT RESULTS AT THE 7th AUCTION ZANARIA - News on line
Our 7th auction, held on Saturday, October 1st at Palazzo Giureconsulti in Milan, has ended with great results. There was an extraordinarily high energy in the room beginning with the Italian States section, with impressive bidding activity and very high increases. Among the many, letter of the Provisional Government of Parma from 1859, the cover piece, with the finest strip of 4 of the green-yellow 5 cents, has realized € 115.000 from a starting price of 85.000. The Foreign section has had a very wide attendance, both in the auction room and by phone. Fierce battle, in particular, Great Britain has obtained outstanding results. The Penny Black VR strip, already described by Danilo Bogoni on the pages of the Corriere Economia on September 19th  , has achieved € 95.000 starting from € 50.000. Lot 3030, the unissued Edward VII violet 2½d was sold for € 65.000 from a base of € 40.000. The 6d purple overprinted IR / OFFICIAL has set the auction record reaching the price of € 125.000 euro starting from a base of € 50.000. Excellent results, as usual, also for Lots and Collections. The highlight of the section has been a complete and fine collection of “Regno d’Italia”, including outstanding rarities, which was auctioned off at € 52.000 from a base of € 28.000. We are happy to remind that unsold lots are still available for our clients at the same auction conditions. Please find the auction results on our website under the catalogues section.
